Work history

Dave started as an apprentice at James and Jenkins Garages of Llandaff North, Cardiff, in the early 1990s. He worked his way up through the ranks and became Bodyshop Manager at the age of 26. With 22 years at that family-run business, working closely with Vauxhall Motors, he gained a vast knowledge of the motor industry, helping build a first-class accident repair centre in Cardiff known for the quality of its repairs and excellent customer care.

In 2009 Dave took the position of Bodyshop Manager at Ellermans Accident Repair Centre, another business with an excellent reputation for car repairs across Cardiff and South Wales. Two years there brought the opportunity to take over the premises and equipment, and to build Dave Phelps Accident Repair Centre into one of South Wales’ premier accident repair centres for workmanship and customer care.

“I believe that I have assembled probably the best team of craftsmen in South Wales. It is a pleasure to work with and observe this fantastic team of tradesmen, with their skills in repairing vehicles and our high standards of customer care.” In its first year of business, the company was nominated for Small Bodyshop of the Year for the UK.
